Students from third level colleges across Ireland were awarded National Smarter Travel awards in the Belltable Theatre, Limerick this month. The awards recognised students from across the country for creating videos, animations, audio pieces, radio ads, graphics and installations for the National Transport Authority’s Smarter Travel Student Multimedia Awards. The entries produced by students, promote ‘smarter’ modes of transport; particularly walking, cycling, public transport and car sharing.
Chelsea Joyce, Aine Proudfoot, Cathy Ring, Ciara Farrell & Rebecca Van Rhee from UL were the winners of the Video & Animation Category. On winning the award the group said: ”as much fun as it was to make this video it made us all so much more conscious of our own individual impact on the environment.”
