Wishing all UL students luck in their exams

Monday, 30th April 2018

It's that time of year again. Spring examinations in UL begin on Monday the 30th of April and continue until Monday the 14th of May. Eíst - UL's Student Counselling and Wellbeing Service have offered their top 5 tips to those sitting exams:

  1. Try to get 8h hours of sleep. Sleep is incredibly important for proper brain function.
  2. Leave 20 minutes earlier than you think you need to. Murphy's law could mean that the day of the exam is the day you'll get a flat tyre or the bus is late.
  3. Bring water and a banana for hydration and a snack, avoid sugary sweets and drinks. These can cause a sugar crash during your exam which can affect your performance.
  4. Don't compare with your classmates afterward, just let it go, it is out of your hands now.
  5. Start over the next day for the next exam.

One final tip is to make sure you know where and when your exam is on, double or triple check at http://www.timetable.ul.ie/.

If you feel you need to talk to the counseling service for support during the exams this video will show you where to find CM-073 where they are located. The counseling service is open for drop-ins from 9am to 6pm during the exams, including Saturdays. You can call on 061-202327 or by email at counselling@ul.ie.
