Historian Dr. Ruan O'Donnell of the University of Limerick spoke about 1916 Easter Uprising leader Tom Clarke, who founded the Brooklyn Gaelic Society branch of Conradh na Gaeilge (The Gaelic League) with his wife Kathleen.
Both Tom and Kathleen lived in Greenpoint; Brooklyn and later moved to Manorville in Suffolk Country before returning home to Ireland.
Kathleen later became the first woman Lord Mayor of Dublin.
