“Germany is Ireland’s largest European and second largest Global export destination and therefore trade with Germany makes a significant contribution to Ireland’s economy. A balanced mix of trading success between these two countries will be vital, not just to Ireland’s economic development, but also its social and political development in the coming years.” Simon Dauber

Simon Dauber is the Chief Operating Officer of Allianz Global Life, a cross border life insurance company based in Dublin with branches in several other countries. After finishing his Masters in Economics, he completed an MBA in International Business at EM Lyon. At that time, he became a scholar of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German Academic Scholarship Foundation). In 2005 he joined Allianz as an Executive Assistant in Germany. Over the following years his career continued with various management roles in Allianz Germany including the Global Headquarters in Munich. In 2015 he moved to Ireland to join Allianz Global Life to support the implementation and execution of the growth strategy. In 2016 he became the Chief Information Officer and in 2017 he was assigned to his current role as Chief Operating Officer.
Since 2019 Simon is a Councillor in the German-Irish Chamber of Industry and Commerce and became its president in 2023. The Chamber will do its best in developing existing and new relationships between Germany and Ireland. Simon lives in Dublin with his Irish wife and their three children.
