East-German singer-songwriter and excavator operator Gerhard Gundermann will be commemorated in an Irish-German, DAAD & CIGS sponsored day of events in Limerick City. Acclaimed filmmaker Andreas Dresen will attend a screening of his feature film GUNDERMANN at 2pm. There will be a panel discussion and Q&A following the film with Andreas Dresen and singer/songwriter and Reader in Music Dr David Robb (Queen’s, Belfast), who translated Gundermann’s songs into English. Dave and his band will perform their “Post-Industrial Songs of Gerhard Gundermann” in the Belltable that evening at 8pm; Andreas Dresen will join the band for a couple of songs in German.
