A guest lecture by Dr. Monika Albrecht

Monika Albrecht, Professor (apl. Prof.), University of Vechta in Germany since 2013, specializing in Cultural Studies and Sociology. Previously, she held positions in German Studies and Comparative Literature in the UK, Ireland, and the USA. Her publications and research (including her Habilitation thesis "Europe is not the World: (Post)Colonialism in Literature and the History of Postwar West Germany") are centred on critical and comparative post-colonial studies, memory studies and the politics of memory, transculturality and migration, gender and diversity, as well as German-language culture and literature from the 19th to the 21st century. Her current project "Postkoloniales Denken in der Kritik: Ein Handbuch" (Postcolonial Thinking Under Criticism: A Handbook) is scheduled to be published by de Gruyter.
