Dr Joachim Fischer awarded Jean Monnet Chair in European Cultural Studies

Co-founder and long-term joined director, Dr Joachim Fischer, has just been awarded a Jean Monnet Chair in European Cultural Studies.

This is a fantastic reward for all the work Joachim has carried out over nearly three decades in supporting, defending and strengthening European Studies at UL, through his committed directorship of the BA in European Studies and his work within the Centre for Irish-German Studies (as co-director with Dr Gisela Holfter), the Ralahine Centre for Utopian Studies and, of course, the Centre for European Studies (CEUROS).

Gisela Holfter will take over as director of the Centre.
