The University Community is invited to celebrate the Heneghan Case

On Wednesday, November 1 at 6.30pm in the Irish World Academy, the University Community is invited to celebrate the victory in the Supreme Court of the Heneghan case last year, which will mean votes for UL graduates in Seanad elections.

This landmark case was a hard-won victory for democratic processes and equality and it is one that will have implications far beyond the issue of the Seanad Franchise.

To consider all of this and to mark its importance, the university community will be invited to attend this event.

Speakers include: Tomás Heneghan, who brought the case; Eilis Barry CEO of FLAC, which represented Tomás; Dr Laura Cahillane as an expert witness in the case; and Mr Justice John Edwards, of the Court of Appeal will chair.

The event is free to attend but please register on Eventbrite
