Introduction to School of Law

In order to support our new students, we at the School of Law have prepared a number of freely available lectures that introduces students to fundamental areas of law in Ireland.

The lectures, available to watch below, focus on issues such as the Irish legal system, the Irish courts system, and the Doctrine of Precedent.

They are an invaluable guide to both undergraduate and postgraduate students commencing their studies here.

In addition to these lectures are a series of notes compiled by Dr Ger Coffey that provide detailed information introducing you to the study of law, legal terminology, the structure of the courts, and a handy glossary to get you up to speed. These are available for download from this page.
