On October 5, 2023, Dr Alan Cusack from the School of Law at University of Limerick, participated in the first meeting of the Management Committee of a major international European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Action project which is aimed at elevating investigative interview techniques.
COST Action CA22128 - Establishing Networks to Implement the Principles on Effective Interviewing for Investigations (IMPLEMENDEZ) commenced on 5 October 2023 in Brussels.
The project has been designed to encourage the creation of networks of researchers, practitioners and policy makers in order to facilitate a wider implementation of the ‘Mendez Principles’, ending cruel and inhumane practices that have adversely affected so many lives through unethical interrogations.
The Chair of the COST Action is Professor David Walsh (DeMontford University) and the Vice-Chair is Professor Yvonne Daly (DCU). Dr. Cusack and Professor Daly are the Irish representatives for this project.
