The School of Law would like to extend congratulations to Dr John Lombard, who has been appointed to the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland’s Preliminary Proceedings Committee.
The Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland is a public body established in law to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of patients and the public by regulating pharmacists and pharmacies in Ireland. A complaint relating to a pharmacist or pharmacy is initially reviewed by the Preliminary Proceedings Committee (PPC). The PPC will consider the complaint and make its recommendation about what should happen about the matter. Some complaints may result in a hearing before a Committee of Inquiry or be dealt with by way of mediation.
Dr Lombard is our lecturer in Medical Law, and has recently published on topics such as do not attempt resuscitation orders, advanced care planning, nursing law and medical ethics.
