Dr Laura Cahillane was invited to address the Oireachtas Committee on Gender Equality on how the recommendations of the Citizens' Assembly on the Constitution can be implemented.
The Committee met in private session yesterday and Dr Cahillane provided advice on the various options open to the committee in terms of potential constitutional amendments.
Dr Cahillane previously worked with the Citizens' Assembly on the questions of equality, the woman in the home, and the definition of the family in the Constitution. It is hoped that a referendum will be held on these issues next year.
