Many congratulations to 4th year law student Ronan O’Sullivan on winning the Allen & Overy Prize following his participation in the British Inter-University Commercial Awareness Competition.

2500 students entered this year, and after five rounds of competition, Ronan succeeded in entering the final consisting of the top 24 contestants on 29 November 2023.

The final involved:
1.     Client pitch (in a team of 3);
2.     Negotiation (in a team of 3); and
3.     A presentation (individual).

Ronan then continued to Grand Final involving a further presentation of the top 6 contestants in front of 3 judges (2 partners and the founder of BIUCAC) and in front of contestants, graduate recruiters and others.

This competition showcases the amazing talent and commercial awareness of law students like Ronan directly to partners of some of the leading law firms and companies in the world, displaying the high level of commercial awareness that is sought for by firms seeking trainees.
