SLSS Hub team member Dr Megan Ryan will be presenting at this year’s North South Criminology Conference.
Megan’s presentation is entitled ‘Developing a standardised measure for potential use across Youth Diversion and targeted youth justice programmes in Ireland’
Megan’s presentation will provide a brief overview of the SLSS Hub, as well as where her work fits within this. The presentation will cover the value of a standardised self-report measure for young people in Youth Diversion and youth justice programmes in Ireland. It will discuss how the measure has been developed to date, including the emphasis on ensuring it is both evidence informed and policy relevant. The presentation will include the importance of factors that influence antisocial & offending behaviour. This will include detailing how both academic literature and policy considerations were used when investigating what concepts/factors are important to be included in the measure. Megan will discuss how expert opinion was also utilised thus far to inform the work, as well as the key concepts that came from this work that will potentially be explored within the measure.
The conference takes place June 17th-19th in Queens University Belfast & Ulster University. Further details can be found here: https://northsouthcriminology.ie/
