The School of Law is delighted to welcome our new colleague, Dr Stefano Angeleri, who joins us this week as Assistant Professor in Law.
Dr Stefano Angeleri previously held an EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) postdoctoral fellowship at Queen’s University Belfast and Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá. He earned his PhD in Law from the Irish Centre for Human Rights (University of Galway, 2019) and serves as the national coordinator for the Irish/UK section of the Academic Network on the European Social Charter and Social Rights. Alongside academic work, Dr Angeleri has led and collaborated on research and training projects with the International Organization for Migration, the Pan-American Health Organization, the Global Campus of Human Rights, and the Italian NGO Naga. His expertise lies in human rights law, health and social rights, migration, and international law.
Recent publications include co-editing a Special Section on Distress Migration and the Right to Health for the Health and Human Rights Journal (Vol. 26/2, 2024) with Professor Jacqueline Bhabha, where he also published a peer-reviewed article titled A Primary Health Care-Anchored Migrant Right to Health: Insights from a Qualitative Study in Colombia; a research report with the Latin American human rights NGO Dejusticia on migrant health rights in Colombia; and a chapter on Article 13: The Right to Social and Medical Assistance in a co-edited Commentary on the European Social Charter (Brill, 2024).
