Eddie Keane was delighted to visit the Universite de Franche Comte in Besancon, France, recently. The visit included presentations to the members of the law faculty, and staff of the International Education Office in UBFC. Eddie also delivered lectures to local undergraduate and postgraduate students.
This visit comes as UL recently signed an agreement for a new dual degree offered by both partner institutions, the Bachelor of Laws in Common and Civil Law of which Eddie is the course director. This innovative programme will see its first intake in 2024. Students complete their first two years in UL studying common law and then spend their final two years at the Universite de Franche Comte where they will study civil law. Graduates will be well-equipped to work in legal environments in Ireland and abroad following this degree. Eddie’s visit cements the good relationship enjoyed between the awarding institutions.
