On Tuesday, 5 November 2024, Ambassador Norio Maruyama and Second Secretary Keiko Nakata visited University of Limerick.
As part of their visit, Ambassador Maruyama participated in a conversation moderated by Dr Erika Marcet, Head of the Japanese Section, to discuss Ireland-Japan relations. The conversation focused on the topics of education, culture and economy.
The Ambassador also spoke to the following students about their motivations, experiences, and goals of learning Japanese:

- Desmond Finnegan (Year 1 Advanced)

- Hana Yamada (International student)
- Clodagh Lambert and Caoimhe Edmond (TY students, Villiers School)
