Date: Thursday, 23 March 2023
Time: 7pm - 7pm

1st year students of the BA Applied Languages and BEd in Languages will perform the German play Woyzeck by Georg Büchner on Thursday 23rd March at 7pm in the Jonathan Swift Theatre (B1-023), Main Building, University of Limerick.

It is Germany, 1836. The fair is in town; the troops are parading. And in the midst of it all, a murder has been committed. As Woyzeck, a lowly soldier, struggles to cope with poverty, humiliation and his own desires, he has to watch his life slowly spiral out of control. Whom can he trust? Will he be able to provide for his illegitimate child? What is real and what is a mere illusion? When even the person he desires most in the world seems to turn away from him, Woyzeck comes ever closer to losing his mind. Will he have lost it completely by the end?

Admission is free, with donations welcome, and English surtitles will be displayed throughout the performance.

All are welcome to attend and we would be delighted to see you at the event.
