The Centre for Irish-German Studies is hosting an event, 'The Story Behind the UN Sustainable Development Goals', with guest lecturer David Donoghue.
David Donoghue was the Permanent Representative of Ireland to the United Nations in New York 2013-17. At the request of the President of the General Assembly, he served as co-facilitator (with Kenya) for the UN negotiations which led to the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015 and has been actively involved with issues relating to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Previously, David was Irish Ambassador to Germany and many other countries. He has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Centre for Irish-German Studies since 2019 and has taken part in several endeavours of the Centre to date. The event will take place in blended format on Monday 7th February at 6pm in the Moot Court Room, Glucksman Library, and online.
