Post Graduate Student Union (PSU) President
Lucy Edith Kiiza is the newly elected Post Graduate Student’s Union President 2024/25 at University of Limerick bringing her extensive background in Journalism, Communication, and Community development to this leadership role.
Originally from Uganda, Lucy has always been driven by a profound passion for social change and making a positive impact in people's lives. A Journalist, researcher and social worker, before embarking on her postgraduate studies, Lucy gained substantial experience working with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Uganda.
At the University of Limerick throughout her education, Lucy has actively served as an ambassador to many departments in the University.
A dynamic and dedicated leader, Lucy brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a fresh perspective to the role, committed to representing and advocating for the needs and interests of her fellow postgraduate students. As the new Post Graduate Student’s Union President, Lucy aims to create a more inclusive, supportive, and vibrant postgraduate community at the University of Limerick.
Lucy’s leadership style is characterised by communication, empathy, transparency, and collaboration. She is dedicated to listening to the concerns of fellow students and working tirelessly to address them. By fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration, she hopes to build a stronger, more unified postgraduate community.
Beyond her academic and professional endeavours, Lucy is a content creator and sociable. She enjoys exploring new cultures and perspectives, which she believes enriches her understanding of the world and enhances her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Lucy looks forward to being part of the Governing Authority to collaborate in transforming the experience of all postgraduate students at UL.
