Students who do not perform to the minimum standards during end-of-semester examinations, that are deemed eligible, are permitted to attend annual repeat examinations. The following knowledge items are accessible on the Student Information & Advice Directory via the Student Hub Online:

 

When are repeat exams held:

For the Academic Year 2023/24, Annual Repeats are scheduled for Thursday 22 August 2024 to Saturday 31 August 2024. The Annual Repeat Timetable 2023/24 is now available at timetable.ul.ie. You can also email your Module Leader to confirm dates and formats of your exams.
 

Repeat exam fee:

There is an annual repeat fee of €171 per module.

*To complete payment please ensure you have the following ready: a valid card to complete payment, Student ID number and Date of Birth

Exam Guidelines

  • Student ID cards are required for entrance exams. If you have misplaced your ID card, you will be required to present a form of identification e.g., driver's license, passport, public services card. If you do not have a form of identification, you will need to go to the Academic Registry service desk to request a document to confirm your attendance. Student ID cards can be ordered on the Student Hub Online.
  • Give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the exam venue.
  • If you miss an exam, contact Academic Registry (AR) on the Student Hub Online and the module leader ASAP. 
  • Phones must be left outside the exam hall. 

Results

Students will be able to access results for the Annual Repeat Exams On Friday 6 September.
 

Progression after repeat exams:

The minimum standards for progression are as follows:

  • QCA greater than or equal to 2.00
  • No deficient grades (e.g. F, N, NG, I)

I Grades 

An I grade may be awarded to students who find themselves in an immediate crisis situation, coming up to or during an exam or final assessment period, which prevents them from being able to sit or complete their exams, assignments or placements. An immediate crisis can relate to ill-health (including illness due to Covid-19), mental health issues, family bereavement/other family crisis situation or exceptional Covid-19 circumstances.

The I-Grade application portal will open Thursday 31 July at 10am and close Saturday 31 August at 5pm.
