On behalf of the International Network for Hate Studies and the Hate and Hostility Research Group at the University of Limerick we would like to invite you to take part in our second biennial conference, “The Politics of Hate: Community, Societal, and Global Responses.” Since the INHS’ inaugural conference held at the University of Sussex in 2014, the relevance of hate studies has become even more pronounced, with the current refugee crisis, the rise of the far right in Europe, increasing discussions about racism in policing in the United States, and state sanctioned policies of homophobia and transphobia. The conference will address broad themes such as how hate crime and hate is experienced at the global and community level, what the latest international policy developments are, and what influence these developments have on national efforts to understand and tackle hate crime?
