Dr Khalifa Elmusharaf, Senior Lecturer in Public Health at the School of Medicine has received well deserved recognition of his exceptional leadership as the winner of the President’s Staff Excellence Awards in Leadership. Dr Elmusharaf has steered the new School of Medicine MSc Public Health Programme to a very successful beginning in August 2020 and has made a significant contribution to enhancing education in UL to a model that is student centred, competency and project based, and experiential with collaborative on-campus learning. He designed an innovative curriculum that equips students with marketable and transferable skills which was the first in Ireland to be accredited by the European Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation APHEA.
