Professor Anne MacFarlane, Dr Kathleen Markey and Dr Molly Manning contributed to a WHO report that showcases positive examples in refugee and migrant health. The report called “Promoting the health of refugees and migrants: experiences from around the world” was developed by the WHO Health and Migration Programme to highlight best practice examples taken in countries towards better health outcomes for the one billion migrants.
Project booklet: MAMA SING project aimed to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of mothers living in refugee accommodation. It explored the use of arts-based participatory methods, utilising singing and music as tools for self-care, empowerment and community building. The project was co-developed and co-facilitated by mothers living in Direct Provision, thereby increasing participation, ownership and inclusion.

This 2018 report was launched at the Ministerial Lunch of the 68th session of WHO Regional Committee for Europe, where Minsters of Member States outlined migration and health developments and areas of future focus at the global level. The report was also presented during the 2018 WHO School on Refugee and Migrant Health
