As researchers in the mathematics education, based on the National Centre for STEM Education (EPI STEM), at the School of Education, University of Limerick, we want to invite you to our research centre for a national mathematics education research conference.

This research event will have an in-built brainstorming and networking opportunity around the future direction of mathematics education research, across primary, post-primary and tertiary level in Ireland.  The them of the event is:

The Future Direction of Mathematics Education Research in Ireland

What to tackle, Who to tackle it with & How to fund the research?

 

The keynote speaker on the day will be Adjunct Professor Merrilyn Goos, President of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI). Professor Goos will discuss the areas in mathematics education in critical need of further investigation from an ICMI perspective.  The schedule for the day, includes speakers from primary, post-primary and tertiary mathematics education sectors in Ireland as well as academics involved with research funding, in a bid to identify international and national funding sources for the research projects in mathematics education.
