The Ubuntu Network in association with the Education Department at Maynooth University hosted a day-long assembly on the theme of Navigating the space between conflict and curiosity: Exploring controversial issues in Global Citizenship Education.
The purpose of the event was to support thinking on how we can enable student teachers to proactively address controversial issues as they arise in teaching and professional practice. Teacher educators across HEIs and non-formal education explored a range of themes and pedagogical approaches including anti-bias education, philosophically informed thinking, dialogic inquiry.
