Global Opportunities with Fulbright Ireland
The Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick recently welcomed representatives from Fulbright Ireland for an insightful presentation on the prestigious Fulbright Programme and the opportunities it offers to students, researchers, and academics seeking international experience. The session was led by Dr Dara FitzGerald, Executive Director of Fulbright Ireland, and Ms Sara West, Deputy Executive Director & Awards Programme Officer.
About the Fulbright Programme
Established in 1946, the Fulbright Programme is one of the world’s most respected international exchange initiatives, providing grants for research, study, and teaching. These exchanges foster academic collaboration and cultural understanding between the two nations.
Fulbright Ireland facilitates two types of exchanges for:
- Irish and EU citizens to work in the U.S.
- U.S. students, researchers, and academics to work in institutions in Ireland, including the Kemmy Business School.
Opportunities for UL Scholars
During the presentation, Fulbright Ireland representatives outlined the range of scholarships available for postgraduate students, early-career researchers, and established academics. These scholarships enable Irish and EU recipients to undertake research, teaching, or study at leading U.S. institutions, broadening their academic and professional horizons.
