Our purpose and vision has always been dedicated to supporting staff members achieve their goals and setting a standard for learning and development. We strive to be accessible, approachable and personable to all employees at all times.
Learning and Developments strategic plan views Learning and Development as a strategic activity, a potential source of competitive advantage in respect of recruiting and retaining staff, and as a core pillar of competence that the hospital group should seek to improve though continued investment and repeated implementation of worthy events. The function is key to improving workplace culture, bridging skills gaps and increasing employee retention.
One of the primary responsibilities is to manage the development of people and to do so in a way that supports other key strategic priorities. Our hospital group requires staff with the requisite knowledge, skills, behaviours and competencies to enable it to fulfil its mandate and to achieve its objectives. Developing our staff to meet the changing nature of healthcare is a key priority. Learning and Development supports this by providing in-house, online, external or academic programmes many of which are supported through the close links established with our academic partner. A key feature of our service is the promotion of equal access to training opportunities for all staff irrespective of discipline so all grades are welcome to avail of the programmes provided in our prospectus.
