Dr Emmanuel Boucrot, Adjunct Professor of Chemical Sciences, is a private trader managing a proprietary portfolio and residing overseas.
He collaborates remotely with Prof. Kieran McGourty (University of Limerick) on understanding how specific extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins regulate the dormancy of quiescent cells, such as intestinal adult stem cells.
Dr Boucrot trained at the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (France) Harvard Medical School (Boston USA) and the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (Cambridge UK). He directed a research group for 10 years (2011-2021) at University College London and Birkbeck (London, UK) before retiring from full-time Academia in 2021. He published in 43 research and review peer-reviewed articles in various scientific journals including Nature, Science and Cell and was awarded significant research funding honours and fellowships.
