Sustainable Investing
One of the University of Limerick’s core values outlined in its strategic plan is about Ethical and Sustainable practices. This involves doing the right things, in the right way, for the right reasons.
The university acknowledges the importance of investing sustainably. Sustainable investing refers to a range of practices in which investors aim to achieve financial returns while promoting long-term environmental or social value. Combining traditional investment approaches with environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) insights has led to investors generating more comprehensive analyses and making better investment decisions.
The University of Limerick does not currently engage in any investment activity and does not have investments in any carbon-intensive energy industries. Any surplus funds are held in short term bank deposit accounts.
