The 12 finalists for this year’s Grand Final of the 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition for postgraduate researchers (PGRs) at UL have been announced. The final takes place at 3pm on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
Each of the four faculties at UL recently held their respective heats and the top three candidates from each contest have qualified for the final.
Commiserations to all those who didn’t qualify for the final. Distilling a complex research project into three minutes and presenting this in front of one’s peers and an independent judging panel can be very daunting. Therefore, a huge ‘Thank You’ is owed to all those who participated in the faculty heats and showcased their research in front of an audience.
The twelve finalists who have qualified for the Grand Final of 3-Minute Thesis are:
- Aoife Sheehan (School of English, Irish and Communications)
- Eamonn Organ (Mathematics & Statistics)
- EmmaJude Lyons (School of Architecture and Product Design)
- Julie Sugrue (Nursing & Midwifery)
- Keelan McMahon (Accounting and Finance)
