Volunteering

The President's Volunteer Award (PVA) is a unique higher education volunteer award.  The President of the University formally recognises students for their volunteering work.

The PVA has been established to harness, acknowledge, and support the contribution that students at the University of Limerick make to their communities.  The PVA draws on a strong tradition of student volunteering both on and off campus.

You are also making great use of your spare time, learning new skills, and gaining valuable practical experience and transferrable work-related skills. Enrich your personal development and employability skills, have a fun experience, meet new people, and give back to your community.

UL Global Buddy Programme

The University of Limerick International Buddy Programme is an initiative which matches incoming international students from all over the world with a current UL student volunteer based on similar interests. As for anyone who moves to a new area or enrols in college, this time can be very daunting.

The aim of the Buddy Programme is to help our international students during their first initial weeks by providing them with a UL volunteer who will give them insider tips about life at the University of Limerick.

UL Global Student Ambassador Programme

The Student Ambassador Programme is a great way to make the most out of your time at the University of Limerick.

Ambassadors represent the international student body here at UL in many different ways, these include; participating in photo and video shoots, meeting with official visitors of UL, contributing greatly to our social media platforms, and writing blogs/testimonials. This programme allows you to connect and share your UL experience with prospective and current student.

The ideal candidate is creative, enthusiastic, and willing to fully immerse themselves into the programme. Whilst there is work involved in this role it is also very rewarding and beneficial to you by further improving your communication skills and helping build connections.
International Student Ambassadors are given the unique opportunity to help students with their burning questions about life in UL, as well as showing and telling students what life in UL is all about.
