To spend a semester or year at the University of Limerick as a Visiting Student, you can apply through your home college’s Study Abroad office or through an approved study abroad programme provider.

The Autumn 2024 and Full Year 2024/5 applications are now closed. The Spring 2025 applications will open in mid-July 2024.

What documents will I need to provide?

To apply for the Freshman Programme you will need to provide:

  • Your high school transcript 
  • Copy of your passport (photo page)
  • English language certificate (if English is not your first language).

If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide a language test:

  • CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) B2 
  • TOEFL 550 (paper-based) 210 (computer based) / 80 (internet based)
  • IELTS (minimum overall score of 6.0)
  • The minimum requirement for Duolingo English Test (DET) is a score of 110.
