Course Overview

In these lively and interactive workshops participants learn a systematic approach to networking and making connections whether it’s in person or online.

We’ll look at conferences and think about first impressions, body language, how to manage small talk as well as practical tips on introductions, how to start and finish conversations and arranging to follow up. Learn tactics to build useful, reciprocal relationships for interdisciplinary collaboration and connecting with industry.

Find out how to maintain contacts, increase your network and set your own networking goals. Learn efficient methods to network more efficiently using online platforms.
With this participative workshop we help to remove the fear factor, increase confidence and maximize efforts. Individual will create and deliver their own pitch-conversation starter and there will be a chance to try out a range of conversational techniques.

This session is aimed squarely at practical solutions to the typical networking situations researchers face such as poster sessions, research or industry focused conferences, networking events and formal occasions.
