Course Overview

All staff are required to employ good records management practices in line with the UL Records Management Policy (available at UL Policy Hub).

Course Objectives/Outcomes

This practical one-hour session covers:

  • the aims & benefits of records management - why we need to manage records;
  • creating, storing and using records;
  • managing confidential records;
  • keeping records secure - security and access controls;
  • electronic records and e-mail;
  • retention, appropriate disposal and archiving - how long to keep records and how to securely dispose of them/archive.
