What was the Project About?
Aligned with the University’s Procedure for Job Sizing and Job Evaluation, which was reintroduced in recent times, highlighted the need to transfer both processes into a digital platform.
In partnership with Human Resources, ITD are currently delivering the online application forms for both processes, to enable our staff to submit their Job Sizing and Job Evaluation requests. As part of both solutions, there are approvals and e-mail notifications in place, as well as reporting and tracking functionality.
There are three key components to the Job Sizing and Job Evaluation Applications:

Ability to complete & submit online forms (PowerApps).

Ability to assign online forms to the various authorisers for approval, triggering approval e-mails (PowerAutomate).

Application Tracking – This captures a full audit trail of the process, including the status, the respective data fields, date, and timestamps (Sharepoint Online).
What does this mean for you?
In compliance with the Procedure for Job Sizing and Job Evaluation, if you have an upcoming vacant recruitment position, you will need to ensure that the position has been progressed through a job sizing exercise, if the position has not been sized in the last 4 years. Equally, if you feel that your current position exceeds the roles and responsibilities as outlined in the job description, you have the opportunity to follow the Job Evaluation process, by using the online platform once live.
Status
This project is currently in the Execute phase, where UAT is almost complete. The Go-Live date is scheduled for mid-February 2024.
