At University of Limerick, Performance and Development Reviews (PDRs) are a key part of the interaction between staff and their managers. Currently, this process is manual and paper-based, which can be cumbersome and time-consuming. To better support staff, ensure greater compliance and enhance reporting capabilities, Human Resources and the Information Technology Division (ITD), are developing and implementing a dedicated Performance and Development Review System (PDRS). This new system will streamline the process, making it more efficient and user-friendly.
What does it mean for the UL community?
All staff* in UL are required to complete an annual Performance and Development Review (PDR) to align with the University’s talent development goals and quality review recommendations. As part of the HR Strategic Plan 2021-2024, a new PDR system will be implemented. This system will:
- Offer a user-friendly workflow solution for creating, reviewing, and approving PDR documents.
- Provide a choice of templates for employees, enhancing flexibility and ease of use.
- Enable the use of automatic reporting on PDR completion rates, reducing manual effort and supporting key stakeholders.
* excludes hourly paid and unijobs staff.
Project update
As of September 2024, ITD have commenced development on the new Performance and Development Review System (PDRS). The system is expected to be ready for the 2025 review period.
