If you are experiencing issues with using Panopto you can log a call with ITD via TOPdesk.

We recommend that you use Google Chrome to access Panopto.

For installing or accessing the Panopto recorder, it is recommended to use Google Chrome, which can be downloaded via the following link: https://www.google.com/intl/en_uk/chrome/

NB. You may also need to adjust browser settings, e.g. 3rd party cookies, cross-site tracking, and an easy to follow guide is available at the following link for all supported browsers: How to enable third party cookies for Panopto in browsers

  1. Select Start 

  1. Select Settings > Apps > Apps & features 

  1. Select the app you want to remove, and then select Uninstall 

Select the Panopto Program icon and drag and drop into the Trash to uninstall. 

OS Version - Mac OSX versions 10.15, supported. Panopto recommends that users upgrade to macOS versions 10.14 and above. See this supported version matrix for further details. Note: Screen capture preview is disabled on macOS 10.12 and 10.13.

A recent update to Safari has turned off Third Part Support for cookies which are needed to display content properly in Panopto. You will need to re-enable 3rd party cookies for content to display properly. Recording from home.  

  • Minimise background noise when recording 

  • Make sure your webcam is at eye level 

  • Ensure your light source is in front of you rather than above or behind 

  • Do a short test recording where you can assess the quality of your audio and your camera angle
