
The Irish Association for Cancer Research (IACR) conference recently took place in Belfast, this is a key event for cancer researchers in Ireland as it provides a platform for sharing findings and fostering collaboration throughout the island of Ireland.
Christina Enright, PhD student with LDCRC Principal Investigator (PI) Kieran McGourty lab was selected for an oral presentation in the Professor John Fitzpatrick Oral Poster Presentations.
A selection of PhD students with LDCRC PIs also presented posters at the conference such as Ciarán Courtney O'Toole (Supervisor Amirhossein Jalali), Brendan Reardon (Supervisor Prof Aedin Culhane) and Kluivert Boakye Duah (Supervisor Prof Ruth Clifford)
Director of the eHealth-Hub for Cancer and the LDCRC Prof Aedin Culhane chaired a plenary session on AI in Cancer Biology in the Biomedical Session.
LDCRC PI Amira Mahdi in her role as member of the Junior IACR council organized a workshop in Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) for early career researchers where researchers and patients came together to share their experiences of PPI in cancer research and brainstorm new ideas for meaningful PPI initiatives.
