Finding out about past collaborations with the SLC
If you are unsure of any past collaborations between your predecessor and the SLC, feel free to get in touch with us at slc@ul.ie with a list of modules that you will be teaching and we can provide summary information on any support we have previously provided.
Visiting the SLC in Person
We are normally open from Weeks 3-13 each semester, so feel free to drop in anytime to say hello! However, we also organise Staff Coffee Mornings at the start of each semester to get to know new staff and discuss ideas for collaboration! Keep an eye out for posts about our staff coffee mornings on the our department's ULConnect channel or you can follow us on Instagram, Facebook, X or LinkedIn.
Supervising a postgraduate/PhD student? Why not recommend they earn extra income at the SLC?
The Science Learning Centre is a collaborative and student-led environment for students at UL through the use of postgraduate tutors who are casually employed by UL as peer mentors. This means that postgraduate/PhD students can earn an extra income on campus while undertaking their studies, with a centre who aims to work flexibly around their PhD commitments.
If you are supervising a postgraduate/PhD student who may be interested in earning extra income while developing their tutoring/teaching skills, refer them to our section on how to apply as a SLC tutor.
