Two University of Limerick academics have been named on the Highly Cited Researchers list for 2024.
The Highly Cited Researchers list by Clarivate is an annual recognition of influential scientists and social scientists worldwide who have made broad and significant contributions to their fields.
Each researcher selected has authored multiple Highly Cited Papers which rank in the top 1% by citations for their field(s) and publication year over the past decade.
The two UL scientists are:
- Professor Daniel Granato, Department of Biological Sciences and member of Bernal institute and Health Research Institute (Agricultural Sciences category)
- Professor Maurice N Collins, School of Engineering, and member of Bernal Institute, Health Research Institute and Centre for Battery and Energy Materials Research (Cross Field category)
Professor Norelee Kennedy, Vice President Research in UL said: “The inclusion of two of UL’s academics on this list speaks to the significance of their work and its impact to their fields. They are working to address many of the world’s grand challenges. One of our strategic goals is that of research excellence and it is very encouraging to have UL researchers who are cited as world leaders.”
The evaluation and selection process draws on data from the Web of Science Core Collection citation index, together with qualitative analysis performed by experts at the Institute for Scientific Information at Clarivate.
