Global Trade Compliance Level 7 - Certificate

 Since many Irish businesses across a variety of sectors rely on global trade, they need to ensure that their operations have solid global trade compliance. To remain competitive, companies must have a comprehensive understanding of the laws and regulations which govern their imports and exports. Global Trade compliance is the process and system of understanding and adhering to the laws and regulations controlling the export and import of goods, products, information and technology between the Ireland and other countries. In recent times the area of Global Trade Compliance has become a critical issue for many Irish companies for a number of reasons but, specifically the re-introduction of borders and Brexit. According to the report ("Ireland & The Impacts of Brexit –Strategic Implications for Ireland arising from Changing EU-UK Trade Relations") which was commissioned by the Department of Business, Enterprise & Innovation, Ireland is uniquely exposed to Brexit due to a very high trade intensity with the UK. Approximately 15 per cent of Irish goods and services exports are destined to the UK. In certain sectors, the UK is an especially important market, such as the agri-food sector where around 40 per cent of exports are destined for the UK. In addition, two-thirds of Irish exporters make use of the UK land-bridge to access continental markets.

The Certificate in Global Trade Compliance (Level 7) is targeted at employees who have a Level 6 qualification in Global Trade Compliance or equivalent and who wish to upskill.
