This online and interactive module explores how organisations can achieve Integrated Business Planning by deploying an advanced Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process with a supply chain.
This module will provide an understanding of the role of the S&OP process in matching plans throughout the business to the latest information inside and outside of the organisation, thus ensuring one agenda, with one set of priorities, and managed through one integrated set of figures.
The course will explore S&OP models which will highlight the role of executives and senior managers in leading the supporting processes and decision-making activities in order to understand the consequent Performance Outcomes.
This module has been designed to offers learners the opportunity to
- Understand the key principles of effective S&OP Deployment in relation to people, process, decision making and performance.
- Connect the relationship between Supply Chain and marketing, finance, operations, engineering, logistics, inventory, and transportation.
- Understand the S&OP process and identify the enablers and constraints of an effective process.
- Identify the KPI in the S&OP process and how to leverage them to support process optimisations.
- Use data to make better choices in supply chain decision making and reduce the influence of bias, influence, and perception.
- Devise an improvement plan for the organisations S&OP process.
On successful completion of this module students will be able to:
- Critique the current theory, practices, and processes in Sales and Operational Planning,
- identify Key Performance Indicators for successful supply and demand chain management,
- Recognise effective Sales and Operational Planning practices,
- Devise an improvement plan which effectively critiques their organisations strategy and application of Sales and Operational Planning processes.
- Engage in critical discussion regarding Sales and Operational Planning topics with peers from a variety of industry backgrounds,
This module is open to those currently employed, or seeking employment, in a variety of industries such as Manufacturing, Service, Retail, Defence Forces, Health Care Services; Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Aviation, Semiconductors etc.
Applicants must have a minimum second-class Level 8 honours degree (QQI NFQ or other internationally recognised equivalent) in a relevant or appropriate subject, or equivalent prior learning that is recognised by the University as meeting this requirement.
Applicants must also satisfy the English Language Requirements of the University.
