The faculty and staff at the Department of Nursing and Midwifery recently received a very warm welcome back for the Autumn semester, as the Clinical Skills laboratories hosted a coffee morning.

The Clinical Skills team were able to use the opportunity to present the newly refurbished labs, which over the summer, underwent an extensive transformation. The refurbishment included the creation of larger more flexible labs with the replacement of internal walls with flexible room dividers, thereby creating scope for larger lab space for teaching when required. The installation of 14 medical grade hospital beds ensures alignment of the student learning experience with clinical practice experience.

Congratulations were extended to both Dr Jill Murphy and Dr Carmel Bradshaw on completing their PhDs, we wish them both continued success. The Department also welcomed Claire Killeen, who rejoins the department faculty and Jennifer O’Donnell who joins the allocations team.

The Clinical Skills team look forward to welcoming both faculty and students to the refurbished laboratories over the course of the new semester.
