Brief Description

Migration is a global phenomenon and of huge importance given its significant increase in recent decades; it is one of the most pressing and complex issues of the 21st century. The MA in Migration Studies at the University of Limerick offers a unique interdisciplinary suite of offerings, encompassing literary and media studies, geography, history, health, music, politics, sociology, law, and psychology modules.

The programme is delivered both on campus and in hybrid form The MA allows students to gain a deep understanding of different aspects of migration, including its causes, effects, and its impact on society, culture, the economy as well as on the individual person. The programme also offers students the opportunity to gain “real world” insight into the current issues affecting migration through our migration internship option.
