The Doctoral College ‘Picture This!’ competition for UL PGRs forms part of UL Research Week 2025 (April 28 – May 2). 

The Picture This! competition calls on PGRs to submit a high resolution photo (minimum 1 MB and 300 dpi, i.e. 300 dots per inch) giving a visual perspective of your research with a caption (60 WORDS max.) attached (Use https://clideo.com/dpi-converter if necessary to bring your photo’s resolution up to at least 300 dpi) 

All eligible entries will be submitted to a three-person judging panel to determine the top ten contestants to go forward to the Final. 

The DEADLINE for submitting an Application Form along with the UL Media Release Form is MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2025, at 5pm.

The top ten finalists will be announced on April 10, 2025.

The top ten photos (as adjudicated by the external judging panel) will be printed and displayed at an exhibition in The Globe and KBS Buildings during Research Week 2025. 

Prize Money is as follows: 

  • 1st Prize: €500
  • 2nd Prize: €250
  • 3rd Prize: €150
