The Centre for Transformative Learning (CTL) are providing two workshops for PGRs new to teaching on Monday, February 10, and Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 14:00-16:00 on both days.

The workshops address key aspects of teaching in Higher Education, offering practical ideas and methods to help you build confidence and competence in your new role.

The sessions will guide you through the following:

  • Developing your personal approach to teaching and learning.
  • Planning effective and engaging classes.
  • Approaches for encouraging student engagement.
  • Understanding the role of assessment and feedback in the learning process.

The first workshop (Introduction to Teaching and Learning I) introduces the broader teaching context, explores the relationship between teaching and learning, and provides insights into building inclusive and supportive learning communities.

The second workshop (Introduction to Teaching and Learning II) looks at practical techniques such as active learning strategies, student-centered approaches, and integrating meaningful assessment into your teaching practice.

These workshops are an excellent starting point for developing the skills and confidence to thrive in your dual role as a researcher and educator.
