Biography
Dr. Louise Murphy is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and Registered Nurse Tutor and is currently a lecturer in mental health nursing and Course Director for the BSc Nursing (Mental Health) Programme in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, UL. She has thirteen years' teaching and research experience in Higher Education and has worked across three different third level institutions including University of Limerick, University of Galway and Southeast Technological University on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and inter-professional programmes. During this time, Dr. Murphy held leadership roles for both undergraduate and postgraduate mental health programmes. She completed her Ph.D. in the area of cancer related fatigue and depression in breast cancer. Her methodological areas of expertise span across mixed methods, systematic reviews, and quantitative research, and her topic focus ranges from mental health nursing, mental health and recovery, trials methodology and psychosocial interventions across the lifespan. She has led and collaborated on a wide range of funded research projects at both national and international level. Dr. Murphy is actively involved in mental health recovery and evaluation research and was the third level representative on the National Recovery Advisory Group. She has published within the fields of nursing education, mental health and recovery and qualitative research in trials in peer reviewed international journals.Research Interests

She is also a member of Qualitative Research in Trials Centre (QUESTS) marketing and education group and the Alliance for Research and Innovation in Wounds (ARIW), where she organises and leads educational events in qualitative research and PPI events. Dr. Murphy is a member of the Health Research Institute at UL and the DNM Aging, Mental Health and Intellectual Disability Research Cluster. Dr. Murphy supervises post graduate Masters and PhD students. She is also actively involved with supporting ANP nurse led research with colleagues in Galway and Limerick and has recently set up an ANP research and journal club in collaboration with colleagues in UL and service partners in the CHO3 mental health services.RESEARCH INTERESTS

This is a forum to support ANP's within the CHO3 mental health services with developing research skills and supporting nurse-led research.
- Academic Link Lecturer for CHO3 Mental Health Services: Working collaboratively with clinical partners in completing educational audits and supporting undergraduate nursing students while on placement within the mental health services in Limerick.
