The Construction Management and Engineering BSc (Hons) programme in the School of Engineering has successfully achieved reaccreditation for the next five years from the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Following a rigorous application process and campus visit from two CIOB assessors, this achievement underscores the programme team’s commitment to delivering high-quality education and preparing the students for successful careers in the built environment discipline.

Dr. Jim Bradley, who spearheaded the application, commented, “We are delighted with this outcome, the process allowed us to showcase the strengths of our programme while also identifying areas for continuous improvement. I would like to thank everyone in the department who worked tirelessly in preparing both the documentation and with the logistics of the assessors visit on the day”.

One of the assessors from the CIOB, Mr. Joe Kehoe, commended the programme team on the overall quality of the application, stating, “The programme demonstrates a clear focus on quality and commitment to student success, and the modules are aligned with industry standards and the CIOB’s Undergraduate Education Framework”.

Dr. John Spillane, Course Director for the Construction Management and Engineering programme at UL emphasised the importance of the reaccreditation, highlighting, “The CIOB are the world’s largest professional body for construction management and this reaccreditation not only validates the excellence of the programme at UL but enhances the employability of our graduates”.
