The Science and Engineering Undergraduate Programme of Summer Training and Research Track (S&E UPSTaRT Programme) was launched Friday, 1st July by Professor Sean Arkins, Dean, Faculty of the Science and Engineering at the University of Limerick.
This new Faculty initiative will support 25 high-performing first-year undergraduate students to undertake research in the Faculty’s research laboratories for a 10-week period during the summer. Professor Arkins stated that the Faculty wishes to prime the talent pipeline by supporting high calibre first year students who will be embedded in our research laboratories during their first year of college life.
The ambition of the programme is to identify and support the best and brightest students and mentor these talented individuals in a world-class research environment.
